FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light was honored with the 2011 Legends Award by the Hockomock YMCA at the 2011 YMCA Legends Ball tonight.

Current and former Patriots were among the guests who showed up tonight at Christina's to support the event, which is in its sixth year.

"Matt Light is the real deal and a true role model whose spirit of giving back inspires us all," said Ed Hurley, the Hockomock Area YMCA president. "Off the field, Matt works with many local organizations including ours and his own charity, The Light Foundation. Every summer, Matt spends several weeks at Camp Vohokase, his camp in Ohio that works with at-risk teens to help them uncover their true potential as future leaders."

Light said he looks forward to the event and appreciates the effort of organizations like the Hockomock YMCA throughout the year.

"Really tonight is all about the Y and it's always fun to come back and great to see the former players," Light said. "... For the people here in the Foxborough area, North Attleboro and Mansfield, there's a great benefit to what [the Hockomock Area YMCA] does and this night is all about that and raising awareness to those kind of efforts that they create and then ultimately, really celebrating all the work that they do and it's fun to be part of it."

Offensive linemen Sebastian Vollmer, rookie Nate Solder and Rich Ohrnberger were among the attendees. Linebacker Rob Ninkovich and punter Zoltan Mesko also attended.
