FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are shaking things up with their roster as they made a few moves this morning.

S Josh Barrett was placed on injured reserve with a calf injury. The team signed LB Niko Koutouvides and DB Sterling Moore (who was on the practice squad) to the 53-man roster.

The Patriots also made a series of moves on the practice squad. S Ross Ventrone, LB Mike Rivera, and DB Josh Victorian were signed to the squad, and DB Malcolm Williams was released from it.

Barrett played in five games this season. He recently has been listed on the injury report with thumb/hamstring injuries. But he did play against the Giants in a sub role.

Koutouvides, who is 6 feet 2 inches and 238 pounds, was with the Patriots during training camp and among those released when the team set its final 53-man roster. He has played seven NFL seasons.
