FOXBOROUGH -- You may have heard this before, but the Patriots released safety Ross Ventrone today.

The Patriots brought back offensive lineman Donald Thomas, who was released last week.

Ventrone played in Monday's victory against the Kansas Chiefs and was mostly used on special teams. It is likely we will see him again.

Thomas adds a little depth to the offensive line as the Patriots wait and see the extent of Matt Light's injury. He was seen in a walking boot after Monday's game.

The Patriots also added DB Josh Victorian to the practice squad.
