The Patriots are practicing on the field inside Gillette Stadium currently, and players are in shells and sweats - it is the first time in several weeks they haven't had a full-pads practice, though with the number of players on the team injury report, that may not be such a bad thing.
On the positive side, Devin McCourty was on the field after suffering a separated shoulder Sunday night against the Jets. That isn't a sign he will play; on Monday night, but it certainly shows he's progressing off his injury. I've been told that the big thing for McCourty would be how much pain he could handle.
But once again the team was missing three linebackers: Brandon Spikes (knee), Jeff Tarpinian (illness) and Dane Fletcher (thumb).
