According to a league source, the Patriots are expected to sign veteran DB Vincent Fuller.

A fourth-round draft pick of the Titans in 2005, Fuller has played in 76 career games, with five starts. He is listed at 6-1, 192 pounds. Fuller has played slot/nickel back and some safety in his career and is also considered a solid special-teams player.

He played one game with Detroit this season, but suffered an elbow injury and was placed on injured reserve. However, the Lions released Fuller from IR on Dec. 7, making him a free agent.

After placing Andre Carter on IR and releasing Eric Moore, the Pats had two open roster spots.
