Cam Newton, left, and Calvin Johnson will compete for the Madden '13 cover.

It looks like Aaron Rodgers dodged a bullet.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback was felled by Detroit's Calvin "Megatron" Johnson in the Madden NFL '13 cover vote, while Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton beat out San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis to reach the final round.

Newton and Johnson will now go head-to-head to determine who will be the face of the franchise's latest installment. Bad luck and injury have befallen many of the recent winners, including the Browns' Peyton Hillis last year.

Through six weeks and four rounds of voting, there's been more than 19 million votes cast in the online poll at ESPN.com. With one more week of voting, the winner will be announced April 25 on ESPN's SportsNation.

The Patriots' Rob Gronkowski was also felled by Johnson, losing in the third round by a margin of 16 percentage points.
