The Patriots have re-signed receiver Jabar Gaffney to a two-year contract, according to a league source.

Gaffney caught 85 passes and eight touchdowns with the team from 2006-08, before signing with the Broncos in 2009 -- where he played for Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

Gaffney, who was a favorite of quarterback Tom Brady, was released by the Redskins this week.

The Patriots now have the following players at receiver:

Wes Welker (unsigned franchise tag)
Brandon Lloyd
Gaffney
Deion Branch
Donte Stallworth
Anthony Gonzalez
Julian Edelman
Chad Ochocinco
Tiquan Underwood
Matthew Slater
Britt Davis

Josina Anderson of ESPN first reported Gaffney's signing.
