Patriots could practice with Saints
The Patriots are among four or five teams that the Saints are speaking with about joint practices during training camp, according to a league source.
The practices would likely come before or after the team's Aug. 9 opening exhibition game at Gillette Stadium.
It gives both teams a chance to measure up against someone else after knocking heads against their teammates for the first two-plus weeks of training camp. Joint practices are something the Patriots have embraced in the past -- the Saints and Patriots practiced together in 2010 -- but couldn't make happen last year because of the lockout.
If the sessions come to fruition, they'll likely garner a lot of media attention considering both teams have tangled with the league in recent years. The Patriots for filming of signals (2007) and the Saints for this year's bounty scandal.
