The Patriots have announced that rookie WR Matt Roark has been released.

The 6-5, 214 pound undrafted free agent from Kentucky was one of five players who reportedly failed the team physical on Thursday, when rookies reported for training camp.

He was considered a longshot to make the roster.

New England now has 88 players on its roster, two under the NFL limit.
