FOXBOROUGH – Both Brandon Lloyd and Rob Gronkowski had sat out practices, and looking to get some extra work in with players who will ultimately be large pieces in the Patriots passing game, Tom Brady made up for the time lost by going over things with both of them on the sidelines during Friday's session.

“It's something that we discussed that we wanted to do during the day today and we wanted to work on it,” Lloyd said.

Part of it, Lloyd said was just making sure things stayed crisp in situations where fatigue and concentration could be an issue.

“You get late in possessions and you get to that eighth, ninth, 10th play and you're still expected to function with the same brain capacity the first play of the series so it's good physical training and mental training,” he said.

Since he's been here, Lloyd said seeing how much the entire organization buys into one philosophy -- "as opposed to four or five guys or 10 guys or 11," he said -- has been the most fulfilling part.

“It's everything that it's built up to be,” Lloyd said. “It takes every ounce of concentration and physical preparation and mental preparation to be able to function in this offense. They have a championship pedigree and I'm just doing my best to get up to speed and be able to execute.”
