Good morning. Here is your PDB for Monday, August 6, 2012. It contains all the links, info, analysis and occasional humor that you'll need to start your day. If you can't detect sarcasm or take yourself and/or football too seriously, this may not be your thing.

9-11 a.m.: Practice #10
Approx. 11:45 a.m.: Nick Caserio press conference

Approx. 1 p.m.: Bill Belichick press conference
1:30-4 p.m.: Practice #11 - joint practice with Saints

Tom Brady turned 35 on Friday, and yesterday he faced a couple of questions about playing at a high level despite his "advanced" age. Considering he hasn't really shown any signs of falling off, he may not be far off when he talks about playing into his 40s.

Elsewhere in Patriots quarterbacking, Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett are friendly rivals, though it is clear that Hoyer is Brady's top backup.

And the Patriots notes looks at the (somewhat oxymoronic) thin offensive line. New England saw two tackles walk off the practice field Sunday, giving the unit's depth another hit when combined with Robert Gallery's retirement.

"Can't wait."
- A smiling Belichick, when asked if he was looking forward to the replacement refs arriving at camp today (we're pretty sure that was sarcasm.)

News, analysis and commentary from Boston.com's staff writers and contributors, including Zuri Berry and Erik Frenz.
