FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots were in full pads today on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium, preparing for Sunday's season opener in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans.

The only players not spotted during the portion accessible to the media were running back Shane Vereen and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who's been out with a suspected leg injury. Vereen was injured in the third preseason game against Tampa Bay, and has not practiced since. Offensive lineman Nick McDonald was on the field, but in shorts.

The newest Patriot -- tight end Michael Hoomanawanui -- was on the field wearing No. 47. Another possible newcomer who wasn't listed on the roster, receiver Kerry Taylor, was wearing No. 19.

Today is like Christmas morning to diehard football fans: The first injury report of the year comes out. Woo-hoo! How many Patriots will be on the list?
