It didn't work out for Kellen Winslow Jr. in Seattle. He's probably hoping for better luck in a tight end happy offense.

The nine-year pro is reportedly going to try out for the Patriots, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Winslow, if brought on, would join a tight ends group with two other free-agent signees, Daniel Fells and Visanthe Shiancoe, plus all-pro Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Winslow has 437 career receptions, 4,836 yards and 23 touchdowns. He spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being traded to the Seahawks. He was cut on Saturday.
