Shortly after Wes Welker talked about Troy Brown and the influence Brown had on him when he got to New England in 2007, he was asked about Tom Brady and whether the quarterback is still handsome despite his banged-up nose.

Welker deadpanned, "Yeah…he’s such a good looking guy, isn’t he? Obviously he gets banged up and he’s probably the toughest metrosexual I’ve ever come across."

Which of course drew laughs.

As Brandon Lloyd noted a short while earlier in the locker room, you always expect toughness from teammates, but Welker expanded on what it means to see Brady brush off a big knockdown and shin to the face like he took when he was sacked by the Titans' Kamerion Wimbley.

"Anytime you see your leader out there and taking hits like that and you ask him if it’s broken and he doesn’t know, he doesn’t care. He loves football, he loves playing and he does a great job," Welker said.
