FOXBOROUGH --- The Patriots conducted their first practice of the week -- in full pads -- in preparation for Sunday's road game against the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman, who suffered a head injury and was forced to leave the second half of last Thursday's 49-19 romp against the Jets in New York, was present during the media-access portion of practice, according to Globe colleague Michael Whitmer.

Missing from Wednesday's workout at the upper fields behind Gillette Stadium were offensive linemen Dan Connolly, Markus Zusevics, Logan Mankins and Sebastian Vollmer. Also absent were tight end Rob Gronkowski and defensive end Chandler Jones.

Jeremy Ebert, a wide receiver who was recently signed to the practice squad, was present for his first practice with the Patriots. He wore No. 17.
