Patriots sign G Petrus
With starting guards Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly leaving Sunday’s game against the Bills with injuries – the severity is unclear – the Patriots addressed a possible need on Tuesday by signing free-agent guard Mitch Petrus, who played in 23 games for the Giants, including six this season before being released.
Petrus was a fifth-round pick of the Giants iout of Arkansas n the 2010 NFL Draft, started three games last season, and worked out for the Patriots on Monday.
The team also made two minor practice-squad moves, releasing Jerrell Harris and signing Jeff Tarpinian. Both are linebackers.
