49ers' Kaepernick named NFC player of the week
FOXBOROUGH -- San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick was named the NFC offensive player of the week for his performance against the Patriots on Sunday.
In a 41-34 win for the 49ers, the second-year quarterback threw a career-high four touchdowns and had a passer rating of 107.7. The win also snapped the Patriots' 20-game winning streak at home in December.
Kaepernick is only the third quarterback to throw four touchdowns or more at Gillette Stadium. The others are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
