The Patriots have had a relatively light few days of training camp since facing the Eagles on Friday, with no practice on Saturday or Sunday and a walk-through type of practice on Monday afternoon.

Tuesday, though, the intensity will pick up several notches as the Patriots strap on the pads again and begin three days of joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will also face the Patriots in their second preseason game on Friday night.

The Patriots don’t have too many burning issues right now, other than the potential return of a few veterans. We’re keeping an eye on WR Michael Jenkins and CBs Alfonzo Dennard and Ras-I Dowling, who were in uniform Monday and participated briefly in individual drills, but still essentially sat out of practice. Same with guard Dan Connolly, while fellow guard Marcus Cannon is still nowhere to be found. We will be tracking their progress this week to see if any of them will be able to suit up Friday night against the Bucs.

Two other quick notes: Dennard was supposed to be in a Nebraska court on Monday for a court hearing related to his DUI arrest this summer, but it was postponed until Oct. 8. He has a probation hearing on Aug. 27, but it could take awhile for his case to be resolved. And the Patriots have moved practice up to 11 a.m. Tuesday because of potential bad weather.

With that, let’s get on with today’s Patriots Daily Briefing:
