The 2013 preseason begins tonight for the Patriots and Eagles in Philadelphia.

It’s the first time the Patriots will be back in uniform since last season’s AFC title game loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the eventual Super Bowl champions.

This Patriots team will feature at least four new offensive starters, given offseason departures and injuries. New wide receiver Danny Amendola fills in for Wes Welker, who signed with the Denver Broncos, and rookie receiver Aaron Dobson will take Brandon Lloyd’s spot after he was cut.

The team figures to have a tight end and right guard in place tonight to to fill in for injuries to Rob Gronkowski (back) and Dan Connolly (shoulder).

The Patriots will also likely feature two new starters on defense in defensive tackle Tommy Kelly and strong safety Adrian Wilson, both free agent pickups.

This is the 21st preseason meeting between the two teams, including last year’s 27-17 Eagles victory. The all-time preseason series is split at 10 games apiece.
