The Patriots host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their preseason home opener at 8 p.m. Friday, their second of four preseason games before the NFL regular season kicks off in September.
All eyes will be focused on quarterback Tom Brady, who had to leave practice Wednesday after having his knee rolled on by left tackle Nate Solder and Tampa Bay defensive end Adrian Clayborn. Brady returned to practice Thursday sporting a knee brace, which he is expected to wear during the game.
This is the third straight year the Patriots have played the Buccaneers in the preseason. They lost last season, 30-28, and are 2-8 all-time against the Bucs in preseason play.
The Buccaneers will play without new cornerback Darrelle Revis, the former Jet, who has been held out of contact drills. Revis missed most of last season with a torn ACL.
