FOXBOROUGH – Apparently Tom Brady has been so frustrated by his young group of wide receivers, he's been making calls and sending text messages to former teammates Deion Branch and Brandon Lloyd, according to a report by the NFL Media's Mike Silver and Ian Rapoport.
According to the report, Branch has said he's ready to answer the call, but Lloyd is not.
Brady's frustration boiled over in Week 2 and he was visibly upset with Aaron Dobson after he failed to run the right route in the red zone. Between Dobson and rookie Kenbrell Thompkins, the Patriots wide receivers had four drops against the Jets in a 13-10 win. The quarterback has maintained he needs to work on chemistry and be less demonstrative on the sidelines because it can be counterproductive.
While Brady certainly has clout within the organization to force a move, members of the team, including Brady, owner Robert Kraft, and CEO Jonathan Kraft, have said numerous times that the quarterback doesn't make personnel decisions.
Update: After the game, Brady said he has not talked to Branch or Lloyd. "I love those guys, but I haven't talked to them."
