It wasn't just Danny Amendola who played through pain in the Patriots' win over the Bills Sunday.
According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Shane Vereen broke a small bone in his wrist early in the game and requires surgery that will keep him out for multiple weeks.
Big hit for patriots, RB Shane Vereen broke a small bone in his wrist on 1st play yesterday, scheduled for surgery today. Out few weeks— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) September 9, 2013
Glazer also tweeted that Vereen experienced numbness after the game because the affected bone sits on a nerve.
Vereen was slated to get his share of snaps against Buffalo, likely as the primary third-down back, but after Stevan Ridley's second fumble of the day (the first was waved off on review), he saw his play-count rise, and he responded with a career-high 101 rushing yards on 14 carries and also had 58 yards receiving.
