FOXBOROUGH – Once again, right tackle Sebastian Vollmer and receiver Matthew Slater were the only players not spotted at Patriots practice on Thursday. Vollmer has a foot injury, Slater a wrist injury; neither practiced on Wednesday, and their availability for Sunday night's game can be viewed now as highly unlikely.

One day after a full-pads practice, players were in shorts or sweatpants and lighter upper pads. The workout was being held on the upper grass field behind Gillette Stadium under the watchful eye of coach Bill Belichick, who was busy chatting up Cris Collinsworth, the NBC analyst who will be in the booth for Sunday's game in Atlanta against the Falcons.
