FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are in full pads for the second time this week, including Sunday, and Rob Gronkowski was once again present and participating during the media-access window.

As he did Sunday, his first practice of the season as he recovers from offseason back surgery, Gronkowski took part in a blocking drill, but there was a slight difference: this time he wasn't going against a coach holding a pad, he lined up against one of his positional teammates and looked a little more aggressive than he did a couple of days ago.

It's a small thing, but it's a measure of progress.

The only player not spotted was offensive lineman Will Svitek (right knee).
