FOXBOROUGH – LB Brandon Spikes, WR Aaron Dobson and OL Marcus Cannon were not present for the media-access portion of Patriots practice on Wednesday, colleague Michael Whitmer reports.

Spikes has been dealing with a knee injury in recent weeks, though he did start against the Texans on Sunday. Both Dobson (foot) and Cannon (ankle) were unable to play last week.

TE Michael Hoomanawanui (knee), who has missed the last three games, returned to practice for the first time since suffering his injury against Carolina. CB Alfonzo Dennard (knee), who did not make the trip to Houston, was present, as was WR Kenbrell Thompkins, who suffered a hip injury against the Texans.

Once again there was a ball-security drill set up before media were kicked off the field, with RB Stevan Ridley first in line.
