FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots are holding their final regular-season practice on the lower grass field behind Gillette Stadium, with two players not spotted, according to colleague Michael Whitmer – S Devin McCourty and WR Josh Boyce.
It was originally believed DE Rob Ninkovich, who popped up on the team's injury report on Thursday, was not at practice, but Patriots Football Weekly reported on Twitter that he was and the website has video to prove it.
The Patriots reported on Thursday that Ninkovich was limited with an ankle injury, which he almost certainly suffered during the practice.
Because they did not practice Friday, it is unlikely McCourty (concussion vs. Ravens) and Boyce (ankle vs. Dolphins) will play Sunday vs. the Bills. Both have not practiced at all this week.
Practice squad RB Cierre Wood also was not spotted, and the Patriots later announced he had been cut and RB Sam McGuffie was added to the practice squad. McGuffie was cut from the Cardinals' practice squad in September.
New England released CB Marquice Cole on Thursday.
