FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots are holding their second-to-last practice of the regular season on the lower grass field behind Gillette Stadium, with players in shells (soft pads) and sweats.

There were two players not spotted: S Devin McCourty (concussion) and WR Josh Boyce (ankle).

New England did not hold practice on Wednesday since players were given the day off for Christmas, but the team reported that they would not have practiced had one been held. On Tuesday the Patriots had a walk-through, and neither was spotted during the media-access period.

McCourty was injured against the Ravens on Sunday, while Boyce was injured against the Dolphins on Dec. 15 and has not practiced since.
