Patriots Draft Cornerback Jemea Thomas in the Sixth Round

FOXBOROUGH — The Patriots drafted Georgia Tech cornerback Jemea Thomas with the 206th overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

Thomas was the third defensive player the Patriots had opted to select, following defensive tackle Dominique Easley and defensive end Zach Moore.

In four years at Georgia Tech, he tallied 234 tackles, nine interceptions, and 28 passes defensed. At the combine, the 5-9 and 192-pound Thomas ran a 4.52 40-yard dash and at his workout day, he ran the 3-cone drill in 7.03.
