Belichick Would Love for the Draft to to Go Back to April

FOXBOROUGH — The NFL had moved the 2014 NFL draft to May, just two weeks from its normally schedule dates in April, much to the uproar of many in the football community.

(A scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall in New York City was the cause.)

While the Patriots were not against the move, they certainly wouldn't mind if things went back to normal.

"Yeah, of course," said Bill Belichick. "I mean the sooner you have the players, the easier it is to start. Not only getting them integrated into your team but also building your team.

"There’s certain things you get in the draft, then you have to fill other areas of the team with veteran players or with college players," Belichick said. "That process you can see going on every day. You pick up the transactions, there’s probably 5 to 15 transactions on daily basis. Of course if you move the draft, you have to move that whole process up. Whatever it is, it’s not my decision. But I would go for an earlier draft. Absolutely."

That's one more vote for April.
