Patriots Make Tight Ends Signings, Cuts Official

The Patriots officially announced the signings of tight ends Ben Hartsock, Steve Maneri, and Terrence Miller.

The team also announced the release of tight ends Justin Jones and Asa Watson, along with running back Stephen Houston.

Hartsock, 34, is a 10-year NFL veteran who last played with the Carolina Panthers. He's 6-4, 265 pounds and has 31 career receptions for 312 yards and one touchdown. He's mainly considered a blocking tight end.

Maneri, 26, spent time on the Patriots' practice squad in 2010 as an offensive lineman. He was cut out of camp in 2011. He spent the past offseason with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's 6-7 and 280 pounds and has six career receptions for 52 yards.

Miller is an undrafted rookie who was released by the New York Jets onJun 19. He played his college career at Arizona where he pulled down 95 receptions for 1,117 yards and three touchdowns. He's 6-4 and 234 pounds.
