One day after finalizing their 53-man roster (for now) with the trade of QB Ryan Mallett, the Patriots officially announced their 10 man practice squad on Monday. There are a few new names and some that are familiar too, none more so than former draft picks Josh Boyce and Jake Bequette.

Boyce, a burner chosen in the fourth round of the 2013 draft, never distinguished himself as anything more than a really fast runner, getting passed on the depth chart last year by undrafted free agent Kenbrell Thompkins. Boyce's days seemed numbered from the outset of training camp this summer and his lackluster performance in last Thursday's preseason finale pretty much sealed his fate as he was cut on Saturday afternoon. He managed just nine catches for 121 yards last season.

Bequette, a pass rushing defensive end out of Arkansas, was taken in the thid round of the 2012 draft, but rarely saw the field. He played in just eight games over two seasons and has yet to register a single statistic in the NFL.

The entire Patriots practice squad is as follows:

Josh Boyce - WR
Jake Bequette - DL
McLeod Bethel-Thompson - QB
Ja'Gared Davis - LB
Kanorris Davis - S
Jonas Gray - RB
Charley Hughlett - DL
Chris Martin - OL
Deontae Skinner - DL
Daxton Swanson - DB
