For all those wondering whether Tom Brady is going to play for the Patriots on Sunday, just ask the man himself.

In an interview with Westwood One’s Jim Gray on Thursday evening, Brady said that he will be ready to play as the Patriots open up their season against the Miami Dolphins.

“Physically I had the day off, but I got a lot of extra film in,” Brady said. “I got a lot of extra mental reps in and walk-throughs and such and I’ll be ready to go Sunday.”

The curiosity began on Thursday, as Brady missed practice, despite not being previously listed on the injury report heading into Sunday’s game. The report on Thursday, however, listed him as a non-participant due to a calf injury.

His absence just 72 hours before the contest led to speculation as to whether there was a chance that Brady could miss the game and backup Jimmy Garappolo could start in his place.

ESPNBoston.com’s Mike Reiss reported earlier in the day that sources told him Brady would be ready for the game. Listen to the full interview with Brady on Westwood One here.
