Patriots playoff simulations
How we did it
With permission from EA Sports, Boston.com video game junkie Chris Forsberg set up a simulation between the New England Patriots and their postseason opponents on the xBox 360 console. The latest rosters were downloaded from EA's servers and all pertinent (or available) changes were made to each team's depth chart. The xBox 360 version does not include a computer vs. computer option, so a human player must always control a team. To negate this, Forsberg took control of whichever team was on defense and allowed the computer to make all player movements (though a blue or green circle still appears below the human "controlled" character). Only one single simulation was attempted and all footage was recorded for inclusion online. Additional simulations could produce different results.
Past simulations
- 2008 AFC Championship game Patriots 38, Chargers 35 (OT)
- 2008 AFC Divisional playoff Patriots 34, Jaguars 31
- 2007 AFC Championship Patriots 38, Colts 31
