WE HAVE A WINNER!
So who won the contest???
Three guys topped the field at the end of the regular season with excellent records of 15-1: Theodore Gregory of Mansfield, Stephen of Medfield, and Mike Ryan of Capitola, California.
The first tiebreaker question was which Patriots player would have the most sacks. The answer is Chandler Jones, by a wide margin: Before today's game, he had 11.5 sacks, while the next closest defender was Rob Ninkovich with 7 sacks. Unfortunately, that question eliminated Mike Ryan, who had picked Ninkovich. But as the third place finisher, Mike wins a $100 gift card to the Patriots Pro Shop.
So we moved to the second tiebreaker: How many receptions would Danny Amendola have? He had 53 before the Bills game, and that determined our winner. Theodore Gregory had guessed 88 catches, but by guessing 4 fewer, Stephen of Medfield prevails -- Congratulations!
Theodore finishes second and therefore will receive a $200 gift card to the Patriots Pro Shop. And as the Grand Prize winner, Stephen wins lunch or dinner with Globe sports columnist Chris Gasper, a framed photograph of quarterback Tom Brady, and a $300 gift card good for merchandise at the online Patriots Pro Shop.
Thanks to all for playing! Watch for our Football Squares game for the playoffs.
