The Patriots used one of their two picks in the first round of the 2011 draft and traded the other one. They chose Colorado offensive lineman Nate Solder (left) with the 17th overall pick and traded No. 28 to the Saints for a first-round pick in 2012 and a second-rounder in 2011. The Saints used No. 28 to take running back Mark Ingram of Alabama.
