Timeline: Tom Brady's road to recovery
Oct. 6, 2008
Brady had surgery to repair both injuries to his left knee four weeks after he took a hard hit from Kansas City's Bernard Pollard. It's typical for doctors to wait to operate when both ligaments are injured; the MCL will usually heal on its own in 4-6 weeks without surgery, making ACL surgery easier. The surgery took place at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
