Evans proved himself fit for the 2007 season by rushing for the first touchdown of his eight-year career in a Week 1 win over the Jets (he caught his only other NFL touchdown during the 2006 season). That win over the Jets also featured Ellis Hobbs's NFL-record 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that included a key block from Evans.

Evans led the Patriots in rushing with 56 yards on 10 carries in a Week 11 win over the Bills in Buffalo.
