Running backs
At 22 years old, Laurence Maroney (pictured) is the youngest player on the active roster, and he's arguably the team's most dynamic playmaker. Gifted with blazing speed and surprising power, the 5-foot-11-inch, 220-pound Maroney has star potential, but there is one question hovering over him: Can he stay healthy? He has recovered from offseason shoulder surgery, but some scouts believe he runs too upright, leaving him more prone to injury. Free agent acquisition Sammy Morris will take some of the load off Maroney, and will bring more versatility than the back he's replacing, Corey Dillon. Kevin Faulk remains a productive third-down option, while jack-of-all-trades Heath Evans adds value as a lead blocker and occasional ball carrier.
