Wide receivers
The Patriots were scrambling at receiver at this time last year, but it's a packed house this year. It all starts with Randy Moss (pictured), 30, who has been slowed by a tweaked hamstring, missing all four exhibition games and leaving doubt about his availability for the opener. The plan would seemingly be for Moss to pair with Donte Stallworth in two-wide sets, with Wes Welker lining up in the slot in three-wide packages. Jabar Gaffney and Kelley Washington will be the backups, and will likely be called upon to contribute on special teams. If Moss is on the field for all 16 games - and plays the way he practiced early in camp - he would represent the most explosive weapon Brady has had in his career. Troy Brown and Chad Jackson open the season on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
