Significant injuries in Boston sports history
Just days after a devastating loss to the Jets in the 2010 AFC divisional playoffs game, news cames that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady required foot surgery to repair a stress fracture. If Brady's foot heals as planned, he should be ready for the start of training camp next season.
That wasn't the first time Brady has had to go under the knife. The Patriots quarterback's 2008 season ended barely seven minutes after it began when the Chiefs' Bernard Pollard, an obscure safety whose name will now live in infamy in New England, crashed into the Patriots quarterback's left knee just as he was stepping into a pass. The result was an injury, widely reported to be a torn ACL, that was severe enough to require season-ending surgery.
