In a 30-21 win in San Francisco after the bye week, the Patriots loosened the reins on Cassel (left), and the QB responded by completing 22 of 32 tries for 259 yards with one touchdown, a 66-yarder to Randy Moss in the first quarter. The reception was Moss's longest as a Patriot. Cassel was sacked five times and intercepted twice while getting away with a couple of other ill-timed throws.
