Boston MVPs through the years
Any time Russell's name is mentioned, the first thing that usually comes to mind (rightfully) is the number of rings he won. Russell's career is so impressive that the fact he won five regular season MVPs is almost secondary to his postseason success. Russell won three straight from 1961 to 1963. His first came in 1958 and last in 1965. In 1965, Russell averaged 14.1 points, 24.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. The NBA Finals MVP did not exist before 1969, but it's likely Russell would have won a bunch.
