Tebow's Christianity isn't exactly a secret, but an informed discussion of his popularity should address this issue rather than dance around it. It would would be as much of a mistake to ignore Tebow's religion in the guise of being politically correct as it would to make him untouchable because of it. Tebow grew up in the Baptist Church. He was home-schooled. He does not shy away from public displays of prayer or from thanking Jesus during television interviews, and he came into some criticism by appearing in a Super Bowl advertisement sponsored by a pro-life group in 2009. Religion is a major part of who he is.
