A letter to the Rattle DonkeyDear Rattle Donkey, What's up, my stick-bodied friend? Just wanted to check in to see how things are going. Just so you know, Houston is not the same without you.
How are the fellas doing? Give them my best from the Lone Star State. I walked by a police horse today and immediately thought of you that Tom Brady jersey duct tape firmly holding your Pats helmet in place I just had to send a note to let you know that your legend is being carried on in Texas, my friend. Later today we throw our very own Boston party at a place called Whiskey Chicks Saloon. Two giant banners arrived at my hotel yesterday with your picture, and a giant Ride the Rattle Donkey slogan! And now you're a big TV star, on the legendary Comcast cable show Sports Pulse (huge 10:50 p.m. time slot), and today you premiered on New England Cable News. What's next? Regis and Kelly? You stud. The party won't be the same without you, but we really need to finish what we've started. I prepare for hundreds of people to look at me strangely while dishing out Ride the Rattle Donkey T-shirts, all the while dedicating the effort to you. You're a legend. The donkey madness is spreading across the country, as well. A few Pats fans from North Carolina put together their own version of the Rattle Donkey, named Battle Ass, and took a trip to Ericsson Stadium to spread the donkey love. Stealing your thunder? I don't think so. You've inspired a following, Rattle Donkey. Consider yourself the George Washington of stuffed mule heads on a stick. Let me know if you recognize him maybe he's an old friend. And remember stay grounded. Don't let your celebrity get the best of you. Nobody likes a cocky donkey. So that's it, Rattle Donkey. I just felt inspired to drop you a note and give you an update. I rode the Rattle Donkey here, and I will not get off until our mission is complete. Again give my best to the fellas. Keep it real. Your friend,
Chris Rattey |
