Jan. 10, 2004: Patriots 17, Titans 14
Tom Brady (21 of 41, 201 yards) caught the Tennessee Titans asleep on New Englands opening possession of the divisional playoff game at Gillette Stadium, launching a perfect 41-yard touchdown strike to Bethel Johnson on third down. Brady also delivered a key block and scramble to sustain a second-quarter drive that resulted in an Antowain Smith 1-yard TD run, and converted on fourth and 3 (a 4-yard pass to Troy Brown) to set up Adam Vinatieris decisive 46-yard field goal with 4:06 left. The defense took care of the rest, and time ran out on the Titans.
