Late night Pats notes
Patriots left tackle Matt Light received the 2005 New England Patriots Ron Burton Community Service Award on Tuesday night at the team's Kickoff Gala at Gillette Stadium.
The 27-year-old Light was honored for his charitable work through his Matt Light Foundation. Past honoress include Joe Andruzzi (2003) and Troy Brown (2004).
The Colts have claimed safety Dexter Reid, released by the Patriots on Monday, off waivers.
“Dexter Reid is a guy we liked coming out of school,” Colts coach Tony Dungy told reporters. “We’ll get a chance to look at him this week and get him in here. We’ll get a chance to see if our evaluation is right. But he was a guy we were very interested in last year. We liked him a lot coming out of school and had good grades on him. He’s a physical guy, a good special teams player, a tough guy and a good athlete.”
