All about the run

In another reminder that the key to a Patriots victory on Saturday is stopping the run, the Jaguars are one of just 11 teams in the NFL who have attempted more running plays than passes this season.

The Patriots are often effective at taking away an opponent’s strength, and the Jaguars’ running game (122.4 yards per game, 10th in NFL) sets the tone for their offense.

The breakdown of NFL teams and their pass-run differential, with playoff teams marked with a (*):

Looking ahead, we’ll have a wrapup a bit later in the day, that includes comments from Bill Belichick’s press conference (10:30 a.m. ET), locker room access (11-11:45 a.m. ET) and practice. Running back Corey Dillon met with the media and was animated with some strong words about his feelings at this point in the season.
