* The Boston Globe's Sunday football notes lead off with the hot-button topic of Patriots receiver Deion Branch. In retrospect, Branch probably wishes he signed a four-year deal as a rookie (with less of a signing bonus), instead of a five-year contract.

* The Orlando Sentinel writes about University of Florida coach Urban Meyer's visit to Patriots minicamp in June. Meyer said he's "kind of latched on to" Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

* Of the Titans' eight home games, their Dec. 31 contest against the Patriots was the sixth contest to sellout, according to The Tennessean.
