Hoodie vs. a suit
FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick just held his Thursday press conference (10:30 a.m. ET) and it ended on a light note. With 49ers coach Mike Nolan and Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio reportedly granted permission to wear a suit on the sidelines for two games this season, Belichick was asked if he'd trade his trademark gray hoodie for a suit.
"I didn't even know it was an option," Belichick said. "I think it's great, really I do. When you think back to the Paul Browns and the Vince Lombardis, Tom Landry and guys like that, their busts in the Hall of Fame, George Halas, you can practically see them. I think it was really a signature for some of those coaches. ... If I had an option to wear one, would I consider it? Yes, I would definitely consider it."
THIRD-DOWN DAY: When it came to football Xs and Os, Belichick said the team was on its normal schedule and working on third down today. The Packers rank 12th on offense on third downs, converting 39.7 percent of the time, while the Green Bay defense ranks seventh, holding foes 35 percent of the time. The Patriots' offense ranks seventh, while the defense is 20th.
