Welcome to Gillette

FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots host the Texans today (1 p.m.).

A few quick notes to pass along:

On Friday, the Patriots had linebackers Sam Cowart and Orlando Ruff in for tryouts. The team's depth at linebacker is thin, and Cowart and Ruff are likely on the team's short list in an emergency.

Also, keep an eye on safety Guss Scott today, as he is likely to be activated to the team's' 53-man roster. The team has an open roster spot, and special teams are a concern today. Scott could potentially help there.

Here at the stadium, it is currently 46 degrees, party cloudy, and windy. The conditions are better than one would have expected for this time of year in New England.

Scouts from the Jaguars and Colts are scheduled to be in attendance today. The Patriots visit the Jaguars next weekend, and the Texans host the Colts.

We'll have more throughout the day.
